Black Thought demonstrates what rappers nowadays are lacking...
Tariq Trotter, or as the world of hip-hop knows him - Black
Thought recently appeared on Harvard i-lab and decided to demonstrate his
ability in the craft of MC-ing. The bars were so dope that I had to post the
video here. Some of the lyrics you might recognize from the collaborative album
between the roots and John Legend "Wake Up!” I believe the track is
"Little Ghetto Boy". However, it's satisfying to see that even within
the commercial success of The Roots and their role as a band for the Tonight
Show, they stay true to the tradition of real hip-hop.

Willie D opens a real discussion on race with his new single "Coon"
Willie D, founder and member of the legendary Geto Boys rap group, recently decided to put his thoughts and views on racism in a new single - "Coon". Controversial or honest, the listener can decide for himself, however for the hip-hop fans this is a nice surprise after a long period of time in which Willie D did not release any new music. His flow as well as his lyrics are not rusty, at the age of 49 he sounds good as he used to sound during the Geto Boys years.
If you like the single makes sure to check the links below and listen to some of Willie D latest interviews.

The Godfather - James Brown, The King - Michael Jackson and The Prince are now all together....RIP Prince
It's hard for me to find words that were not said, to use a adjectives describing his talent that were not used...the fact is that it was just shocking. Prince passed away at the age of 57, leaving us a lot of experimental dance-funk vibes that will continue to inspire the future generations. My personal feeling and impression that his career left in me is that is it OK to break the rules, to experiment, to be who you are and at the same time to stay true to style, to the genre, to the basic traditions that inspired you. A lot of people now will focus on his "best" work, however the song that I first thought of was - Musicology. I remember listening to this track when I was in highschool thinking "He is 40, way passed his prime time and he still got it !!!".
From all the articles, tweets and publishings one thing stood out for me and that was the people saying that now The Godfather - James Brown, The King - Michael Jackson and The Prince are now all together.
